University of Lincoln

The University of Lincoln leads the partnership to ensure that customer priorities and the quest for innovation excellence override commercial agendas.  The University brings deep multi-disciplinary research and innovation expertise to the partnership, as well as academic connections, student engagement and training services. Having won the prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prize in 2023 for Innovation in Agri-Food Technology, the University is committed now to achieving high levels of innovation excellence in other sectors.

Based in Lincoln, SRC UK operates with a not-for-profit ethos, and is a subject matter expert in analysis, the production of mission critical data and creating customer focused software solutions, without locking in data. SRC is now investing in DecisionWorks to drive further commercial success and deliver benefits for the nation and importantly for the Lincolnshire region.

Quantexa is a British-founded technology unicorn offering customers an advanced Decision Intelligence platform to augment or automate decision-making. A major player in the global Financial Services sector, Quantexa is diversifying into Defence and other sectors.  Quantexa is invested in DecisionWorks as an innovation partnership to open up new opportunities through collaboration.

What We Do

DecisionWorks tackles complex, high-stakes decision support problems through innovation – combining deep domain knowledge, advanced Data & AI capabilities and a novel collaboration model. We specialise in wrangling overwhelming volumes of complex data and deploying carefully selected data processing and AI technologies to deliver trusted insights and decision support innovations.

Getting Data Right

Our skilled data team – equipped with powerful technology – can quickly ingest, clean, tag and connect big volumes of open source, proprietary, customer and classified data across a myriad of complex data types. Our methods respect the mission, the inherent complexity and limitations of data, and the importance of tracking provenance and assessing confidence.

From Data to Decision and Impact

We empower users with powerful ‘data pictures’ and user-friendly tools to explore them. We apply technologies – including AI – to extract and present actionable insights at machine speed, with transparent links back to the underlying data. Additionally, we can layer on decision support technologies and methodologies to support human-in/on-the-loop decision-making, drawing on our team’s domain expertise and depth of understanding of human factors, human-machine teaming and the psychology of decision-making.
